Castillo Tambor Resort & Restaurant - Tambor (Alajuela)

We recently stayed at a true gem of a Boutique hotel located between Tambor and Montezuma. Castillo Tambor Resort & Restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. the owner's Italian touches in the food made for flavorful and fresh meals at the restaurant. the rooms were comfortable, clean, and had one of the best hot showers we experienced during our trip to Costa Rica. the ocean view from the tower was breathtaking, and the hospitality of Sonia and Jim, the gracious hosts, made our stay even more memorable. We highly recommend Castillo Tambor Resort & Restaurant for its unique charm and exceptional service. Cons: No complaints. 😊.

We had an amazing time at this unique resort that bears a remarkable resemblance to the Tower of London. The ocean view from the tower was absolutely stunning, and Sonia and Jim, our gracious hosts, made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms in the tower may not have a door, but the long staircase provided adequate privacy. The resort was tastefully decorated, spacious, and impeccably clean. The included breakfast was delicious, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We also loved the tours offered by their own tour company, Pura Vida Expeditions CR. a perfect experience!

Gorgeous ocean view tower, modeled after the Tower of London, with a unique layout featuring long staircases and no door separating rooms. Gracious hosts and adequate privacy. A cool and memorable stay.

the ocean view from the tower was breathtaking, and the hosts, Sonia and Jim, were gracious. the renovated rooms were clean and spacious, with an exotic style. the staff provided excellent customer service, offering helpful directions and organizing tours in the area. the food at the restaurant was delicious, and breakfast was plentiful and included in the stay. our experience at Castillo Tambor Resort & Restaurant was positive, and we would definitely stay there again.

Castillo Tambor Resort & Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. the gallo pinto was exceptional and the coffee was the perfect way to start my day. the resort also had a pool, WiFi, and AC in the unit, which made my stay even more comfortable. the cleanliness of the place and the beautiful exterior added to the overall charm of Castillo Tambor. the staff were attentive and polite, providing excellent service throughout my stay. I highly recommend Castillo Tambor Resort & Restaurant for an enjoyable vacation experience. Cons: Absolutely nothing! 😊.

As a business traveler, I really appreciated the ample and comfortable rooms at the resort. the staff was incredibly helpful and nice, assisting with all of my queries and requests. the breakfast offered delicious Costa Rican cuisine, providing a great start to the day. the resort's unique building, resembling a watch tower, added a special touch to the overall experience. the pool was well-integrated into the concept and provided a nice space to relax. the live music events were an enjoyable bonus.
